Stuck to North facing terrain up to 5800’. 5” of new snow accompanied by moderate winds on Monday night. Looking down on a steep pillowy slope on a NE aspect at 5400’ it didn’t look wind loaded or have any signs of it. Still decided to enter slowly and inch my way in to get a little more established and see if i could stomp around a little. Got the top 5” of fresh snow to slide below my feet and basically flush many parts of the slope. Went ahead and rode the slope with no other signs of instabilities. On a N facing slope at 5800’, right below the summit ridge tried to get the top snow to go but this time it broke 2-3’ deep on to the crust underneath all the recent snow. It broke below my feet and was probably 40’ wide and ran ~400’.
