Our group was out for the past two days. On Saturday the wind hardened snow fell on top of softer snow from earlier in the storm, creating 'upside down' layering. Today 7" of new snow was on top of this. So the upper snowpack had a soft/hard/soft layering, but skied well. We found a sudden planar result in a compression test after moderate taps. It failed 50cm down just below the wind stiffened snow and above the soft-ish snow below it. We also saw signs of settlement. Skies cleared by 3 with afternoon sun on the surrounding alpine terrain
