Quick report
- Cracking
- widespread
6-8 inches of heavy dense snow atop of a layer of colder lower density snow. Around 5000 feet it became much more pronounced with solar and warming.
Avalanche
- Size
- D1.5
- Aspect
- S
- Trigger
- NO
- Elevation
- 5000 ft
We believe this was triggered by ice/snow dropping from trees above us during a sun-break and warming. From that point the avalanche propagated along the slab approximately 30m in both directions.
