Quick report
Our party skied the East facing aspects of Union Creek. Plentiful signs of winds from the east with rhime on trees near the crest and lots of wind lips. Snow was fast and enjoyable but thick. A thin crust 3-4 inches down was easily found in hand pits but didn’t impact the ride. Temps rose throughout the day and we noticed lower elevation trees starting to shed and the lower snow getting wetter and creamier around 2pm. It seemed like the layer 8-10 inches down got easier to pull blocks off of in hand pits on the up track at around that time as well. We observed no avalanches.
