Quick report
Below 4000’ there was ~1 foot of low density snow on top of the recent rain crust. Snow depth increased greatly above 4000’ and above 4500’ the crust disappeared. The skiing quality was incredible above 4500’ and still very good all the way down to source lake. Winds were calm for the entire day, even on ridge lines. The weather switched between very heavy snow (s3 at some points) and sunny clear periods. At some points there was graupel falling heavily. We did not see any signs of instability. The top few feet of the snowpack seems to be very right side up, with the top 8-12 inches being very low-density. We saw very isolated signs of wind transport (although most of our skiing was sheltered).
