Quick report
A few images from around the Pass on 1/18 and 1/19 (very little change was expected today, 1/20, so didn't haul around the telephoto lens). Rambling throughout Snoqualmie Nordic each day of the long weekend showed plenty of faceting and extensive surface-hoar on most open slopes -- the next loading event is apt to be spicy. This layer and crust will be fascinating to watch for the rest of the season. Interestingly, on sunny open slopes near Hyak's Hidden Valley below the powerlines, surface-hoar that was extensive Sunday had seemingly disappeared by noon Monday.
