Quick report

Cracking
isolated

Even though a few inches of low density snow was on the surface, and winds were light to moderate, there was much less wind transport observed today than expected. We stomped on numerous wind loaded test slopes and only got minor results on colder aspects. Cornices in the area were old or non-existant. Many areas typically void of snow due to wind erosion still held a few inches of recent snow today. Our descent to the HWY 88 chain-up area is normally very wind affected, but today wasn't.

We stomped several wind rolls and wind loaded test slopes with no results on warmer aspects, and minimal results on colder aspects.
