Quick report

Cracking
specific
Collapsing
specific

We experienced a few very large collapses in heavily wind loaded terrain. The largest continued for many seconds after triggering and sounded like it wrapped partially around our location. These collapses were the size of large starting zones.

Weather

Clear and cold all day long. Occasionaly felt warm in the sun, but only half of your body.

Snowpack

Stiff, icy crusts on solars, quickly tapering on the margins. Fresh coat of SH on sheltered, shaded slopes.

Pit at 8000' on a N aspect:
HS=150cm
1/6 down 125-130cm
2/1 down 90-95cm
2/24 down 60-65cm (this was the layer of concern at this location, produced ECTP24, ECTX with full propagation with one additional hit from the shoulder). Block failed cleanly on buried FCsf from the mid-February drought.
2/29 (leap day dust/graupel event) down 40-45cm
