Breaking trail through 20 cm of dense snow from the road, more like 30+cm back at the head of the bowl. We did some low-angle-laps in the centre of the bowl. A small (1-1.5) avalanche had released from thin coverage at the base of a rockband, propagating 30-50 metres either side and running only a short distance into the shallower slope: climber's right of the frozen falls, in the photo. A larger (2+) avalanche had released below the cliffband well above the lower bowl. Snow on the lower slope of the bowl was a bit dense, but supportive and nice on the telemark turns. Not much evidence of slab formation. No whumpfing observed on this slope, although we experienced a few small collapses off the trail in the lower forest.
