I got up high in the Western Uinta front and found 18-24" of new snow. The new snow has bonded very well with the old snow. North facing slopes have some wind loading and I found west facing slopes scoured with wind loading around stand-alone trees. Most trees are void of snow however in the basins the snow has settled to over 2 feet. My stability tests showed a weak layer about 4 inches below the melt-freeze crust but my ECT failed to propagate. On my way out I was kicking some new snow off a cornice and was caught by surprise when the old snow failed behind my feet.
