Sapphire Col, Roger's Pass

Cold (-17) but mainly clear & calm day up at the Col. 15-20 new snow overlies a variety of surfaces, mainly windslab. Observed a hard & clean shear down 40cm below the slab at a high elevation convex roll. Good skiing overall on the glacier Moraines are characterized by buried windslab & weak areas of facets. No reactivity noted, but spectacular wipeouts when skiing thru the facet pits in flat light.
