Observation: Duchesne Ridge

Today in Mill Hollow was another high pressure beach day. Forming surface hoar can be observed in multiple drainage bottoms (two examples pictured). Relative to previously observed shady slopes, digging in a sunny ESE chosen pit location provided information into what a more supportable, less sandbox style snowpack might hold. With the trend of diurnal melts and freezes, more solar slopes are becoming increasingly viable for shallow, creamy recreation.

Skiing and riding conditions on shady slopes are worsening as the snowpack continues to weaken, and the snowpack becomes less supportable.
