Quick Observation

Nice day for some hot laps. Snow stability was great, and consistent with the avalanche.ca condition reporting (good job as always). Ski tracks from the last week were covered over with about 10-15cm of new snow. At times you could still feel the old tracks underneath, but mostly it was nice pow skiing. There was also some chunder here and there from fallen cornices, and previous small avalanche debris that dropped in from the upper cliffs. We kept a distance from the north wall of the bowl due to overhead cornice hazards. We skied down the middle and along the south facing wall. Several parties there today enjoying the turns in the same areas of the bowl ~11skiers in total.

Weather

Morning was cool but winds were calm and good visibility. Weather cleared around noon, and visibility deteriorated by 2pm with light snowfall.

Snowpack

~10-15 cm of new snow depending on how much it sifted in. Snowpack felt solid under foot and skied well. Watch for buried avalanche debris and cornice chunks from overhead.
