Snowpack

High North faces still holding faceted pow down to 2500m. Fast slufffing in those areas. The boot pack to Swiss pk on the south side was getting thin and pretty icy in places. Most steep south facing terrain appeared to be melting quickly and with widespread Loose wet cycle starting before noon. Noticed a few (older) wet slabs to ground avalanches on ski out from swiss BTL in very steep terrain. The melt freeze crust on Youngs pk. head wall was still supportive (ski pen : 10-15) even later in the day (6pm). Bottom of forever young is terrible because of refrozen wet loose runnel in the middle of the couloir.
