Numerous old debris piles from sz 1.5-2 wet slab & loose wet avalanches were observed on nearly every aspect above tree line. Start zones averaged greater than 40 degrees, and debris ran the extent of most paths.
Snowpack Summary: BTL below 1360m: Rain has saturated the upper and lower snowpack. BTL above 1360m: Variable HS that increases in elevation. 10-30cms of light (F hardness) HST sits atop the most recent rain crust (2022-12-27 rain crust). TL: In wind exposed areas, variable surface conditions existed with shallow and developing wind slabs. 10-15cms of 4F- wind slabs sit atop the most recent rain crust (2023-12-27). In wind sheltered locations, 30-40cms of light (F hardness) HST sits atop the most recent rain crust. HS at 1600m in a sheltered opening averaged 200cms. Below the most recent rain crust, the lower snowpack was of similar relative hardness, and was wetted by the most recent rain event. The basal facets were found in flat, open terrain down 180cms, though it is still unknown as far as their reactivity.
