Quick Observation
can confirm. the couloir was slabbed out. quiet, cool & overcast day in the Sherbrooke valley. efficient (slick) travel up through the forest. some quality deadfall dancing to be had. boot top dust on crust covering the benches. bottom of couloir is wind pressed (1F) and has been cleaned out by wind/natural activity. supportive to bootpack and holding well on layer below. ascending the couloir the wind slab became thinner and increasingly reactive to shears. not down to dance with that devil we bailed halfway up. deciding slab shear went at STV (SP) down 15ish on FC. bottom half skied wonderfully & uneventful. ski out on the benches was a lovely consolation.
