Very shallow snow conditions exist in the Logan Area, with no snow even at upper elevations on south facing slopes and the shallow snow on north facing slopes plagued by well developed loose faceted grains. Weak basal snow will likely be a problem on these slopes as an inevitable slab develops with early winter accumulations.

Very shallow and weak snow on north facing slopes, less than about a foot deep below around 9000'. No snow at all on south facing slopes....
