Mount Fairview, Lake Louise

A good overnight freeze kept the snow in decent condition until about 10:30AM on Fairview this past Sunday. We turned around just below the summit as temperatures rose into the teens. Evidence of a large spring cycle, up to size 3 on all aspects. Of note, the normal ski route (SE face) slid sometime recently. The bed surface is hard, but skis nicely once it softens. Something like an inclined billiard table. It's still possible to ski all the way back to Lake Louise on dirty snow, but it won't last much longer.
