Quick report
As we ascended the ridge we found major sastrugi. Dropping in on the far west side of red lady bowl we experienced wind slabs with some dinner plating about an inch deep. We cut under a rock band into the bowl proper I went first on skis and traversed through the pocket without triggering anything but as my snowboarder partner came in with a more dynamic heel side turn he triggered the windslab which slide about 200 feet down the bowl over exposed rock and bed surface. The snowpack 20ft further into the bowl was only inches deep with ground showing in many spots making this look like an isolated pocket of wind loading. No new snow, partial cloud cover. As we progressed further down the bowl the snowpack turned into a punch crust with sugary facet snow underneath.
