Quick report

Enough snow existed at this location for enjoyable over-snow-travel, with high quality surface conditions on cold slopes. Weak layers at the surface and mid-pack will be worth monitoring as the snowpack builds.

One of two Extended Column Tests propagated on facets between crusts

Snowpack

Generally supportable snowpack from the trailhead towards Virginia Lakes Pass. Surface hoar observed on all aspects from the TH to our high point of 10,700ft. Some early stage near surface facets observed on cold slopes.  A facet/crust combo observed midpack. Facets at the ground were moist even on cold slopes.
