Skier went down preforming stability check and triggered a fairly good-sized avalanche that broke about 1 foot above the skier. The skier was not carried. The slope was Northwest facing with mild storm snow on the surface. It was however on a cliff band which in my opinion was a major contributor for unstable conditions.
