Quick report
Only real layering in the pit was the grouple layer seperating the old melt-freeze crust from the new storm snow. No clean shear observed in the layering.
Snowpack
Pit at 9500ft, NE facing revealed about 25 inches total snowpack. Bottom 4 inches was a damp melt-freeze crust, old snow from the previous storm. Next was a layer of large diameter grauple, which probably fell with the cold front passage on Friday. Capping the grauple was 18 to 20 inches of new right side up snow, going from about 4 finger at the bottom to cold smoke in the top 6 to 8 inches.
