Quick report
We went to Bacon Rind today. The snow cover in the lower section is significantly less than higher up, but it is sufficient to enjoy turns through the trees.
We dug two pits near the top and both showed the weak layer of four finger hard facets near the bottom. In our first pit we had an ECTP17 on that layer and in our second pit (east-facing) we had an ECTP25 result on that layer. We further got an ECTP10 result in the south-facing pit, propagating on a facet layer near the top.
We didn't observe any signs of instability today.
While we were out in the field it was snowing lightly (S-1) and the sky was overcast. Cold winds from the south/south east were blowing in the valley bottom. Our ski slopes were pretty sheltered from the wind.
There are about ~ 3" of new snow down low, and about ~10" at the top.
