Noticed a thin sun crust on west facing below Newt Chute while approaching Wolverine Cirque from Brighton this morning. Mid-way down Scratch and Sniff as it started to turn west, I pulled out a small wind slab on a ski cut that had surprising energy (20' wide, 100 vert). When I checked the crown, it had run on the crust a few inches down. Didn't get a good pic, but something of note for steep west/northwest slopes tomorrow as we get new snow.
