Essentially avoided all slopes over 30 degrees. Observed well preserved buried facets and likely SH throughout nearly all aspects and all elevations traveled. On top of this was roughly half a meter of recent snow. Surprisingly in upper 10-15cm there is an obvious rain crust in winner ck up to nearly 2000ft yet not apparent on the normal side of notch. The snowpack on this side of girdwood is highly unstable. It is a good time to avoid avalanche terrain in this area. I was surprised at how widespread, reactive, and well preserved this problem is. This is in stark contrast to other recent ski days in other nearby areas. Serious caution is advised.

Numerous persistent slab avalanches failing in well preserved facets and likely surface hoar under the new snow. These are nearly identical to the previously submitted slides on notch/sunnyside.
