Quick report
Deep soft snow in northerly aspects. Observed a dry loose avalanche on SE aspect - believed to be caused by solar radiation. Found a deep weak and reactive layer at 55cm below the snow surface on a northerly aspect at 6200 feet.

Clear sunny skies - no wind - very cold in the shade - solar radiation strong.
Snowpack
175cm snowpack. 50+cm of recent snow all right side up. Early February crust displayed faceting beneath the crust - very soft grainy crystals. During our snow pit, we were expecting to see results at this early February crust. However, we were surprised to find a very reactive layer at 55cm (roughly 15cm above February crust).
