Quick report

Dug in 2 locations going up the Python shoulder to attempt to identify the 3/16 buried surface hoar layer.  Prior to burial this location had widespespead/well developed surface hoar. 

At 2500'/N Pit results produced ECTX and ECTN28 down 46 cms on 2nd attempt.   PST END 95/100 down 46 (03162025) 3/16 weak layer was identified in this location down 46 cms, and had a quality 1 shear and was intact at 4-6mm. (picture below) 

At 3800'/N/HS 345cms- pit results produced ECTN14 down 17 cms/ ECTN28 down 25 cms.  Buried surface hoar was not identified in this pit and new/old interface was down 40cms.

New surface hoar formation was widespread and 2-5mm  to ridgetops.  

Thompson Pass road corridor continues to show the 3/16 BSH layer to be stubborn-unreactive and spotty in distribution of where it can be identified preserved as a defined layer.  This observation should not be applied to more remote glaciated zones, buried surface hoar may still be reactive in these areas.
