Quick report
We toured on the NE shoulder of Mount Emma to check on surface conditions.
Snow coverage was patchy in lower elevations below Emma. The snow surface on a NE aspect did not really soften at this location. Slopes with a straight E aspect softened just a bit, but there was minimal coverage on E or SE facing slopes at this elevation. Runnels were still present, and looked more pronounced on north facing slopes.
Above around 9,000' there was a skiff of snow remaining from snow showers earlier this week. Moderate NE winds near the summit ridge and firm conditions prevented us from wanting to go higher than 9700' today.
