Quick report
Another warm and humid day for January. Cloud deck was around 10K, with fog in most of the canyons that seemed to burn off close to sunset - with some short windows to avoid skiing by brail.
Given the warm temps lately and very warm air it didn't take much for it to compound with solar input today and become unstable. Around 12-1230 we heard audibles south of us in the range as we were dropping north into Avalanche Canyon, followed by two roaring audibles across from us as we descended. The 4 Hour couloir and its adjacent chutes were likely one of the audibles, though several wet loose slides were viewed on SE and E facing terrain once we were in the drainage. If we see a full day of sun without clouds, with these continued warm temps, I expect more wet activity at all elevations on anything with solar input.
Some older avalanches on north facing shots near the Turkey Chute. Widespead E and SE wet loose activity in the mid and upper elevations. One SE slab avalanche 10,100' that I loaded into the avalanche events page.
