We observed a relatively small avalanche as we started up the Surprise skin track on the morning of February 26th. The slide appeared to have naturally released the day before as a result of the significant increase in solar loading on Saturday and the debris path crossed over the skin track. We did not observe any nearby tracks, and the crown was a few feet below a large boulder on a slight rollover.
