Cracking
isolated

On our last run of the day, after the storm had begun to produce again later in the afternoon, we observed heavy wind and snow near the top of the ridge line. We skied a tree run called the ribbon, and found triggered a small wind slab pocket and noticed cracking and wind affect up to 100’ below the ridge. While this cracking was not widespread, we were surprised by how quickly it formed given we had seen little signs of instability up until then.
