Skinned up Prouty Headwall from Green Lakes TH. Dug full pit at base of Prouty Couloir: L: Prouty Couloir runout E: 9100’ A: ENE S: 25deg T: 1430 and cold, shaded, breezy Pit results: CT18 down 15cm, Q3 ECTN HOWEVER: as we ascended, even 500’ vertical above the pit, conditions were heinous…widespread windslab (8-12”) with Q1 shear on all kickturn switchbacks. Hand pits were CT5, sudden planar. Skiing conditions were HIGHLY variable
