Quick report
Today I toured to the summit of Paulina Peak, primarily traveling on the road. The snow depth around the lake was thin, around 2-4". At 6,800ft I found the snow depth to be 13" and up to 30" at the summit.
Unfortunaly the rain from Sunday reached all the way to the summit. Currently, the snow surface is a stout (supportable) crust from the recent rain that is now frozen. This crust layer went all the way top of the summit and was 4" thick at higher elevations.
I was able to find the basal facets which we have been reporting over the past week. I found this layer primarily on northerly aspects and was not found everywhere. This weak layer appears to be slowly gaining strength (aka rounding). However, I still had propagation on this layer during extended column tests (which is a sign of poor snowpack structure).
