I found that the new snow was definitely consolidating into a slab. The wind effect was widespread, creating windboard on southerly slopes and pillows on northerly slopes. I stomped on a small cornice above the water tanks and had a thin crack shoot out about 6 feet from my snowshoe. I dug a pit on a northwesterly aspect. HS was 130-135 cm. I had my column test break at CT10SP 19 cm down on the new snow/thursday snow interface, and CT11SP between the thursday snow and the november snow that was crusted 30 cm down. My ECT had two ECTN results at 16, 40 cm down and 23, 45 cm down.
Avalanche
Observed some crowns near the top of the ridge above Crystal Lake between Jaws and Crystal Chute. Two looked to be D2 from a distance, the rest D1.
