Avalanche
Observed two avalanches on my drive to mammoth today. One D2 in Elderberry canyon that appears to have fractured on depth hoar about 3/4 of the way up the canyon. The second was in the East Gulley at the same elevation. This one appears to have propagated on a ‘storm slab’? and stepped down to the PWL at ground level. Photos were taken on an iphone from the highway, but the crowns are very noticeable by eye.
