Periods of moderate to heavy snowfall all day. 2-4” of low density accumulation while we were in the field. Light winds in the morning, increasing a little bit in the afternoon. Little blowing snow observed along upper elevation ridgelines.
Snowpack
Upper snowpack: mostly loose/unconsolidated low density snow from the past several days. Very little to no slab development where we traveled. The upper meter of snow is right side and mostly fist to four finger in hardness. There is a thin pencil hard crust from the high pressure window prior to the new year down 2ft (65cm).
Middle snowpack: The Christmas Crust was found down about 3.5ft (110cm) and not reactive in our pit tests today. We found a thin layer of 0.5-1mm rounding facets above the crust. Not well developed. 2 pits: ECTN x3 on various hardness changes, not the crusts.
