Quick report

Skiied up to 8800' on 25 Short. Lots of new snow. The total height of the snowpack was ~300 cm at the middle elevation band. The new snow depth was ~100 cm from the past few days. Winds were generally calm with occasional strong gusts from the south. Temperatures were below freezing down to the parking lot. We noticed a couple of small avalanches on steep convexities. These avalanches were breaking within the top 12" of the snowpack, only running short distances and not breaking very wide. All the recent snow has created somewhat difficult ski conditions. We stuck to lower-angle terrain, and due to the upside-down nature of the snow, moving downhill was difficult without the assistance of the skin track.
