Quick Observation
Went exploring up the Kispiox and found some moist powder to play in. South and west aspects had a breakable sun crust that was still ok to ski through. The best skiing was on north facing slopes though. We dug a test pit at 1450m on a northwest facing slope and found the persistent weak layer down 55 cm. It was reactive in our tests so we continued to keep it mellow and stick to low angle terrain, avoiding steep slopes overhead. We noticed some limited cracking in the wind slab right at ridgetop but didn't see any recent avalanches (visibility wasn't that great though). There were strong southwesterly winds, but due to the surface snow being crusty/moist there wasn't any snow being transported.
