I took the dog out for a walk this afternoon, and I noticed a couple fresh natural avalanches including this large pile of fresh avalanche deposition in Lower Cherry Creek Canyon, not too far into the wilderness. The tree-containing debris was at the bottom of a large, northwest facing avalanche path. Looked like the path ran a couple times with fresher debris over the top of a little older.
This just a small part of the crown of a recent very broad natural deep slab avalanche on a southwest facing slope further up Cherry Creek Canyon.
