Quick Observation

We rode from outhouse parking lot cross road and up the slot we call the bowling alley running N behind summit knob, this feature is not full of snow as usual this time of year, still passable for sled travel. Then snow improved further up summit creek to top of drainage gaining the col and onto the tabletop glacier overlooking Chilkoot - US side. Tabletop Glacier had nice deep snow. HS probes 280 cm in flats in center of glacier with a serious knife hard crust down 120cm. Powder (Boot pen on glacier 30cm) made for nice sledding. It was windy with gusty north winds and lots of spindrift on ridgetops. Temps -11 at 1400. Clear skies. Powder getting wind effected but was still skiing nice in north slopes at higher elevations on descent ski laps. less snow, less ideal conditions lower in summit creek.drainage.
