I went up to Maple Bench to check out the extensive natural avalanche cycle that occurred earlier in the week. The avalanche in Bird Canyon was one of several large and very long running natural avalanches that probably all ran around the same time during the intense part of the storm on Monday morning. The avalanche ran fun length of it's path and pasted the maple trees well down in the forest below the path.
