A large avalanche released on Sunday, Dec 15th. This was a result of 4 inches of new snow that fell on Friday which was then loaded onto the slope by strong wind Saturday night into Sunday. This path is one of the usual suspects and usually releases and hits the road about every 1 to 2 years.
The avalanche broke right to the ground and really cleaned out the starting zone. The fracture line was anywhere from 2 to 4 feet deep.
The debris stopped about 100 feet above the road. It covered a snowmobiler's track who was in there the day before the avalanche.
