Quick report
Location: June lake roadside ice On ice features of north facing aspect. Ice was thin some places had running water below ice. On top of ice was a thin slushy layer maybe about 2.5cm in other locations with enough may freeze may develop into depth hoar. On top of the slush layer anywhere between 10cm-70cm of fresh snow. In flatter areas or shrubby area boot penetration can be 10-70cm. So I spent a good amount of time parallel and “swimming”. :/
Avalanche
Location: McGee mountain. Avalanche crown spotted from roadway. Clear skies and felt warm in the sun.
