Quick report

Cracking
Observed

shooting cracks (probably from after the tuesday snow event but before the Thursday snow) on North low angle (23-30 degree) terrain. Heard sounds of collapse. Saw two small recent avalanches on steep micro-features probably from probably thursday or friday. Dug a pit at 9400ft on North aspect ~28 degree slope. ECTP23 on the weak sugary facets @65cm depth (140cm total snowpack depth). Wind was light, but the big snow machines on the crest were operational ECTP 23

Glorious

Snowpack

Lovely snow and conditions. About 80cm of new snow from the last week. The new snow was generally right side up, but the facets below are very weak and worth a wary eye. Would be hard to trigger the big one but the snow pack is thinner down south and expect on steep aspects there are some dragons lurking. Some small wind slabs on the sheltered side of ridge tops. Stuck to lower angle terrain in well spaced trees.

Avalanche

small isolated avalanches breaking on NE aspects on windloaded terrain.
