Quick report

We toured up the Emma Lakes Trail with lots of optimism. There isn't really enough snow to ski. On leeward slopes I found up to ~35cm of snow at 9300', and only enough to barely cover the rocks everywhere else. There was a frozen crusty layer on the ground, and soft new snow on top. No slab now, but definitely a layering to keep in mind when more snow comes, given there is a weak layer and a bed surface. On the way down it was challenging to control speed without hitting rocks constantly and sadly I core shot my skin.
