South Ridge of Leavitt Lake

High pressure continues for at least the next week with possibility of low pressure disturbance by end of the week.  

Snow is sparse in most of our terrain below 8500' in all aspects except patches in the north aspects and in the shade.  Above 9k' north facing leeward slopes that are protected are holding cold faceted snow without any base.  Rock/ground interface is easily found as the snow above is non-supportable with Fist hard resistance or softer.  AKA shovel isn't needed for digging pits as hands are suffice. 

North aspect above 9k' still holding faceted snow  below surface wind skin. Other aspects surface temps more solar effect with wind skin starting a melt freeze cycle with solar melt only on top 2-3 cms with colder sugary grains underneath. Below 9k' snow is sparse and only present in north aspect or in the shade.
