Quick report
Went up woody ridge to ski. Dug a pit at 9300ft 130 degrees SE. HS 90-100cm. CT12 failing at the crust later 15cm down (buried yesterday 12/17 I believe?), clean shear. Pulled the top layer off and gave the remaining column 1 more tap, and the whole column failed at the ground facets. ECTN15 failing on the same Dec 17 crust 15cm down, broken chunks not shear. Did a shovel shear test on the remaining ECT and the entire column separated with moderate force, clean shear. Wind slab observed to varying degrees of depth and hardness along our ascent up the slope. Sometimes hard enough to support body weight, sometimes soft slab that broke under our feet. Surprisingly, no major cracking or collapses throughout our day despite everything we know about the current snowpack. Great skiing conditions to be had outside of avalanche terrain.
