Before remotely triggering this slide, we dug a full profile higher up on the same slope and conducted both a CT and an ECT. The results revealed a touchy upper snowpack with CT12 SP @45cms down and ECTP11 @45cms down. This problem layer was a buried meltform and is the same layer that was responsible for our remotely triggered slide. Remotely triggered an avalanche on an isolated terrain feature. Only found signs of instability on this specific slope.

Avalanche remotely triggered as I skied down an adjacent slope. I cut the run we were planning to ski and then made a wide turn entering the run. The photos show turns above the trigger point. There is a large shooting crack going into the convex rollover on a rocky outcropping. It is clear that the thinner snowpack in this specific location made for a perfect starting point for this avalanche, and it then propagated across the slope. Nobody was caught by the avalanche. My partner noted a wumphing sound as I skied down.
