Quick report
Small windslabs and light loading observed in steep and north facing terrain above 6,500' in Cabinet Mountains.
Overall snowpack stability is good. Was able to release very small windslabs in steep terrain 3-5" thick. Triggered slabs would travel less than 20 feet before stopping. Observed wind loading present at ridgelines and steep cross-loaded gullies had released naturally resulting in very thin deposition below extreme terrain.Weather

Strong temperature inversion with cooler temperatures below ceiling at roughly 6,000' in elevation. Clear skies and warmer temperatures above ceiling. Light to moderate winds primarily out of the south and west.
Snowpack
The upper 12-18" of the snowpack is very well glued to the rain crust that developed on 12/6-7th. Crust was 8" thick at 6,000' with saturated snow below that. No other signs of instability observed other than the very small windslabs previously mentioned.
