Quick report

Toured up to the top of North Bowl in South Fork Eagle River to check out early season conditions and get eyes on the snowpack. Generally we found early season, low coverage conditions. We found highly variable surface conditions throughout the day, from boot top facet powder, to breakable and supportable wind slabs, and bare ground. Snowpack depths are variable as well with generally ~1' of snow. We found 2-4mm surface hoar growing on preserved stellar dendrites from the trailhead to ridge top / summit. No red flags observed during the tour. Calm weather, clouds moved in throughout the day following warming temps to 28F at the car in the afternoon. Light wind from the east.
